If your Facebook Cover Photo is old, outdated, or out of season, then it’s probably time to change cover photos. Keeping up with seasonal changes can keep you from falling behind on the latest social media trends.
So, take a look at the 10 free Canva Templates I’ve personally created for you to customize for your fall or autumn Facebook cover photos.
Why Is It Important To Change or Update Facebook Cover Photos?
Having old Facebook cover photos on your profile, page, or group can really give you an outdated look. And because social media is a constantly growing and changing form of connecting with people, it’s important to make sure you don’t fall behind on seasonal trends, especially if you run a business page or group.
This new look can help your traffic, engagement, and brand image if you run your business online, or if you use Facebook for your organization’s page or group.
But, if you don’t run a business, or maybe you’re a social media influencer, it can still be a great way to keep your Facebook profile active. And it’s the perfect way to share seasonal vibes with your friends, family, followers, and more.
Fall Facebook Covers for Your Timeline
I’ve personally created 10 customizable templates for you to use for your Facebook profile. Many of the templates include stock photos, but if you decide to change these photos, you can simply upload your own photos into Canva and change them that way. Or you can choose from the tons of additional options available in Canva’s stock photos collection.
Don’t worry about needing design skills, because Canva actually makes creating beautiful designs super easy!

How To Change or Update Your Facebook Cover Images
When you are ready to change cover, make sure you have your image dimensions the way you want them. The Canva templates I have created are the recommended dimensions for Facebook cover photos. So you don’t have to worry about any issues with your cover looking strange since it will be full size.
When it’s time to change, it’s a simple process that only takes about 30 seconds. The directions are below if you are unsure.
Steps to change cover:
- If not already, log in to your Facebook account
- Go to your Facebook profile, page, or group
- Navigate to your cover photo (at the very top above your profile photo) and find the small camera icon
- Click the camera icon and select “Upload photo” (this is the same on desktop/mobile)
- Find your saved copy of your new Facebook cover photos image (.jpeg, .png are most common)
- Adjust the photo to change the position of your photo if needed
- Select “Save”, and you are all done!
